Delicious Recipes that are Perfect for April
We all know the old saying, “April Showers brings May Flowers”, but what do you do when it’s too rainy outside to enjoy the spring weather? All of us at Liberty Catering have the answer: COOK! There’s nothing more satisfying and delicious than making your own dish and enjoying it with the pitter-patter of rain overhead. Moreover, April is home to a host of various food-related holidays. Even if they don’t give you a day off, it’s still an excuse to celebrate and make delicious food! That’s why we’ve decided to give you some recipes that are perfect for April.
April’s first food related holiday is National Sourdough Bread day on April 1st. Everyone loves a good slice of sourdough, and with quarantine a year ago many people already know how to make a homemade sourdough. With all of this in mind, a simple grilled cheese is perfect for those rainy April days. Sharp cheddar, avocado, and onions are perfect for a grilled cheese that’ll knock your socks off.
Another mentionable food holiday is National Cinnamon Crescent day on April 10th. This sweet treat is sure to warm you up and make you feel cozy. Perfect for breakfast or an after-dinner dessert, this dish is delightfully easy. All you need is cinnamon, butter, sugar and a crescent roll! Bake for nine minutes at 375 degrees and you’ve got a delicious treat.
April 16th brings about another delicious food holiday: National Eggs Benedict Day. Nothing makes a morning better than eggs and some hollandaise sauce. Plus, if you usually only make your eggs one way, this is a great way to change things up and learn how to make a better dish. Check out this recipe for spicy eggs benedict from our friends at Spoon University!
Our last food holiday is National Prime Rib Day on April 27th. Prime Rib is a delicious cut of meat that everyone can enjoy, especially on rainy April days. This is the dish that requires the most work on this list, with a total time of 5 hours including prep-time and cook-time, so be prepared if you want to celebrate. However, all you need to make a delicious prime rib roast is salt, black pepper, and your prime rib of course. Prime rib can be expensive, so if you’re celebrating on a budget try this short rib Bolognese from our friends at Spoon University instead.
We hope that you enjoyed some of these recipes and you get the opportunity to try them out this April! Even if you missed the national day, don’t hesitate to celebrate and make these delicious dishes.
